This past fall I worked with Drue Phillips on his first solo project. Drue is a worship pastor in Plano, and many of these songs were written specifically for people in his congregation.
The musicians on this project include Joel Cameron on drums and Milo Deering on pedal steel, violin, and mandolin. Ian shows added some additional electric tracks to compliment Drue's guitar playing. Be sure to check out Sarah Donaldson's amazing cello work, especially on Cry Out.
I'm thrilled with the way this project sounds, but I'm even more proud of what it means. The lyrics matter, which is not always the case with modern worship music.
If you're still looking for ways to spend the iTunes gift cards that Santa left in your stocking, please consider downloading Drue's project.
Here's the iTunes link.

It's looking more like 3rd Thursday or 3rd Friday. Honestly, I can't believe I made it to week 5 without a delay! This whole project is as much for me as it is for you. I need deadlines. One song a month has been ambitious, but it's definitely doable for someone that has access to the resources that I do. Thanks for the support and encouragement throughout this process. I hope you've found a song or two that resonates with you since I started all of this in June.
This months song has been mastered, and is on it's way to the online stores like iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, etc. My best guess is that they will be up first thing tomorrow morning, at least on iTunes.

This month's 3rd Wednesday song is ready for download. I co-wrote the song with my good friend Bob Paterno. Joel Cameron added drums and Kate Miner sang some beautiful background vocals.

I've gone country...at least for a month! Love The Way You Let Me Down is a fun little tune about a guy that can't seem to take a hint. Make sure you make it to the 2 minute mark to hear a mean solo by my boy Ian Shows. Don't worry, the tune has the necessary amount of steel guitar and fiddle. If you listen close you might hear some cowbell! More info here.

I'm wrapping up next months 3rd Wednesday song, Love The Way You Let Me Down. I've gone country (at least for a month), and all good country songs need a killer solo. Check out the fine work from my friend, Ian Shows.

yes. There always seems to be a new website service that feels like a better fit for what I'm trying to do. Let's see how long I stick with the folks at Virb.com. So far I'm impressed with the ease of use and nice design features.
